Home Entertainment
Although technology has made work easier, more effective and more efficient, technology isn’t all about work. Home entertainment is a case in point, with televisions becoming flatter, slimmer and with a more precise, defined picture and sound systems becoming more dynamic, including offering full surround sound experiences.
It seems that we no longer need to pay to go to the cinema for an experience which transports us into another world. With LCD projectors now available for home use, many people have created what amounts to a small cinema in their own home. With Blu-Ray DVDs and High Definition (HD) television now available through cable or satellite, every aspect of our home entertainment is being improved, defined and taken to the very maximum level possible to fully immerse the viewer within the film.
But computer technology has also muscled in on the home entertainment section of the market, offering online streaming television, immersive gaming experiences and the ability to organise and play extensive music collections. Perhaps one of the more significant developments in recent times is the ability for previously separated home entertainment devices to become connected, using networking or wireless networking facilities, our television, DVD player, Hi-Fi, games console and computer are now able to share and transfer data around the house, providing a more coherent, organised system of entertainment.
