World of Gadgets

technologyFrom penknives to clockwork radios, we have always enjoyed the appeal of gadgets that make life simpler, easier or more fun. As technology has become smaller, more lightweight, more compact and more powerful it has enabled us to devise ever more complex and clever gadgets. From mobile phones to handheld PDAs, and from portable games consoles to language translators no bigger than a pocket calculator, it seems that technology has brought us to the point where only our imagination and ingenuity is the limiting factor.

One aspect of all this technology is that gadgets have become more interconnected. With internet access almost standard, and wireless hotspots becoming more widespread throughout cities and urban areas, it seems that we can now take our music, our friends and our office with us wherever we happen to be – on the beach, on the train or in the countryside. The payoff is, of course, that we are now expected to be accessible 24 hours a day – the price, perhaps, for such interconnected technologically advanced gadgets.
